The Argos Hill Post Mill in March 2004.This is one of the most important mills in England. It lies within the Parish of Mayfield though a short distance from the village centre. It was built in 1835 and sadly is currently covered by scaffold and plastic, but renovation starts soon. Follow progress on the website, argoshillwindmill.org and if you are interested and are able to help in any way please get in touch via the link. The plan is to get it back to working order, but the work will be done in phases. The spectacular views from the mill reach as far as the windfarm in Camber. The Friends of Argos Hill Windmill and the Trust of Argos Hill Windmill together have the enthusiasm, and knowledge to see the renovation through fairly quickly, but it will depend on the funds that can be raised.
